Longville Lakes Area Workforce
The Longville Lakes Area has a unique blend of talent because of its attraction as a place people want to relocate to. This talent includes: Artists, Musicians, community theater performers, wood workers, arborists, botanists, people with advanced degrees in many fields including medical, dental, veterinary, chiropractic, academia, educators, psychiatry, computer specialties, scientists, researchers, engineers. The list goes on and on of very talented individuals.

Over the last 10 years and as a documented continuing trend, baby boomers are relocating to the area in large numbers. They are building year round homes as is evidenced by the dramatic change from seasonal cabins to large , expensive year round homes. ( see…Cass County Assessor info re: changing value of properties).

These people are very willing to use their many talents, skills and experiences to improve and add value to the Longville Lakes Area. This is evidenced by an exceptionally high level of volunteerism.

Many of these individuals would be interested in part time positions, some full time. They are technically advanced, having come from, in many instances, large corporations using the latest technology. Their experiences are many and varied as they have had very successful careers. And, they are not done. They are just working on their own terms now.

Alongside this group is the younger family group, who vacation here and would love to live here if they had work. This group includes just about everyone who has spent time in the area. These folks naturally represent a broad spectrum of skills, from technology to the trades.
Lastly, there are the young people who have grown up here and who do not want to leave. They are moldable, natural talent that could continue their training in the myriad of technical, 2 year or 4 year educational institutions surrounding our area.
