Wildlife is ever present in the Longville lakes area. You never have to go far to take a picture of one of this area’s abundant wildlife. Keep a lookout for deer and fox as you drive the scenic roads.
Black Bear can sometimes be seen in the spring as they come out of hibernation. Occasional sightings are also reported each summer and more often in the fall as the bears bulk up before their long winter nap.
Great Bald Eagles are almost common in the area as we have the highest concentration of eagles in the lower forty-eight states. This eagle is carrying a fish he has just caught.
Many variety of ducks and geese nest and live in and around the Longville area. If you are staying on one of the many lakes, you are bound to see them swimming or flying near you.
