Lake Maps

Bounded by Leech Lake to the north, Hackensack to the west and Remer to the east; Up North encompasses nearly 60 lakes and the central town of Longville. Still beautiful and unspoiled, still quiet and uncrowded, this area provides some of the best recreational opportunities in the State.

Big Sand Lake

Big Sand Lake is located 18 miles North and East of Longville along Highway 200, or 1 1/2 Miles West of Remer. Named Big Sand Lake by settlers in the area, the original Ojibwe name is Mikinako Sagallgun which means “Turtle Lake”. The lake is known for it’s wealth of bluegills and northern pike, crappies, walleye, large mouth bass and rock bass.

Blackwater Lake

Blackwater Lake: Six miles south of Longville at the intersection of Cass County Road 11 and MN Hwy 84 is beautiful Blackwater Lake. The clear 722 acre lake sports Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Bluegills and Crappies.


Boy Lake

Boy Lake: Que-wis-ans is the Ojibwe translation for Boy River and Boy Lake. This popular lake, located miles north of Longville, is rich in Indian heritage and filled with a variety of fish. The Boy river flows through the lake on it’s journey to Leech Lake. This 3,145 acre lake provides for a variety of fish, including Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Large Mouth Bass, Crappies, Sunfish, Perch and Bullheads.

Girl Lake

Girl Lake – Woman Lake Chain: One of the most popular chain of lakes in Minnesota begins on the shore of Longville. Guests to the three lakes can travel by boat to downtown Longville. The three lakes boast some of the area’s best fishing and water recreation. Fishing is good all year long with a wide variety of species available. The Walleye is most popular fish caught on the chain but Muskie, Large Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Sunfish, Crappies and Perch are also abundant.

Inguadona Lake

Inguadona Lake: Inguadona Lake is located 3.5 miles east of Longville on Cass County Road 7. The lake is over 4 miles long and is 1/2 mile wide on the south end. Little Boy River flows through the lake. There is also access to Rice Lake on the south through the Little Boy River. Inguadona is noted for it’s wide variety of fish, including Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye, Large Mouth Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Perch, Sunfish and Bullhead. The best access to the lake is at Anchorage Inn, located at the narrows on County Road 7.

Leech Lake

Leech Lake: Just 8 miles north and west of Longville is Minnesota’s 3rd largest lake. Leech lake spans nearly 30 miles east to west and 24 miles north to south. The clear green tinted water holds a wide variety of game fish including Walleye, Northern Pike, Large Mouth Bass, Small mouth Bass, Crappies, Sunfish, Suckers, Tullibee and Eel Pout. However, the lake is most noted for it’s Muskie fishing.

Little Boy Lake

Little Boy Lake: Little Boy Lake is located 3 1/2 miles south of Longville on Hwy 54. This 2 1/2 mile long lake is one of the most popular lakes in the Longville area. The lake has record Muskie. It also provides anglers with Walleye, Northern Pike, Large Mouth Bass and Small Mouth Bass. A channel links Little Boy with Wabedo Lake.

Long Lake

Long Lake: Located just two miles north of Longville on MN Highway 84 is Long Lake. The lake is nearly 8 miles long and generally 1/4 to 1/2 mile wide. Steep banks surround the lake except at the location of the two resorts on the south west corner of the lake. Fishing is great with a variety of species from which to choose. They include: Northern Pike, Walleye, Large Mouth Bass, Crappie and Bluegills. A public access is located on the northwest side of the lake.

Pleasant Lake 

Pleasant Lake is located just East of Hackensack, located in North Central Minnesota. The lake is 1038 acres is size and 72 feet at it’s deepest point. Fisherman can expect to find a variety of species including crappie, bass, bluegill, perch, northern, and walleye.

Thunder Lake

Thunder Lake: Thunder Lake is located 13 miles east of Longville near the intersection of MN Hwy 7 and US Hwy 6. The lake is nearly 5 miles long and 1 1/2 miles wide. The following varieties of fish can be caught in the lake: Walleyes, Crappies, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass and Perch.

Wabedo Lake

Wabedo Lake: Wabedo Lake is located 4 1/2 miles south of Longville off of Highway 54. Record Muskie, but also great Walleye, Northern, Bass and exciting panfishing for Crappie and Bluegill are present.

Woman Lake
