Always the first Saturday in February, the annual Ice Bocce Tournament features hot competition on the cold, cold ice of Craig Lake. People come from all across the state to take part in this fun winter-time event. Held behind the Longville Fire Hall, the scene is full of funny costumes, competitive Bocce games, and good times.
Teams consist of 4 people and must be co-ed (max of 2 Men–may have more than 2 Women).The competition is limited to 64 teams.Tournament coordinator Craig Johnson urges players to register early, as the roster fills up fast.
Cash prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams and a trophy is presented to the champions. There are also cash prizes for best team name and best dressed team. Patrick’s is open for food and beverages and to offer a warm place for participants. Registration the day of the tournament begins at 9 AM, with competition beginning at 10 AM.
