Meet the New Managers of Timber Trails Resort!
We are thrilled to introduce the new managers of Timber Trails Resort, Olivia and Damie! This dynamic husband-and-wife duo brings a passion for hospitality, a love for the great outdoors, and years of experience in resort management to their new role.
High school sweethearts, Olivia and Damie have been together for ten years, married for two, and recently welcomed a baby girl into their lives. Damie hails from Zimmerman with a background in engineering, while Olivia, originally from Princeton, has a strong foundation in event planning. Over the past few years, they lived in Brainerd, working at a resort where Damie handled maintenance and Olivia managed sales and operations. In addition to their resort expertise, they also own Vangstad Creamery, an ice cream cart specializing in weddings and events.
Their love for resort life stems from the unique lifestyle it offers—blending work, family, and relaxation in a way that fosters lifelong memories. Growing up, both Olivia and Damie spent time at cabins and seasonal campsites, instilling in them a deep appreciation for the sense of community found in northern mom-and-pop resorts. Damie’s family had a seasonal site on Woman Lake, where they often boated to Frosty’s for ice cream—one of their favorite pastimes when they first started dating. The charming, small-town feel of Longville drew them in, and they’re excited to now call this beautiful lake country home.
As they step into their new roles, Olivia and Damie are eager to meet guests, spend time outdoors, and immerse themselves in the Timber Trails community. Their first season promises to be an exciting one, filled with learning and new experiences.
One of their biggest projects is a full remodel of one of the resort’s three year-round cabins. Renovations began last fall with Tom and Damie leading the charge and will wrap up this spring. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin is undergoing a complete transformation, including an expansion with a brand-new addition.
